Jean Cheely has been working with glass since 2001. Her works in stained glass have been installed in private residences and public venues. Her studio includes three kilns where she fuses, forms and casts glass. She has worked with glass pioneers, Patty Gray and Gil Reynolds. Cheely employs varying techniques to accomplish her unique designs including combing, stretching canes, pattern bars, flow bars, vitrigraph and casting.
She is an Award Winning artist who works to maximize the play of light using color, texture and shapes to display the beauty of the glass. A careful process of heating and cooling is required to create decorative and functional pieces of glass art; including vessels, art panels and components for her unique jewelry. All of her designs are original and the glass is hand cut.
