The landscapes I paint or represent in collage are places I have known and loved or places that I have visited and felt emotionally drawn to. In my still life paintings I use objects that have meaning for me pieces of pottery or household things that are part of my life. Recently I have also begun to paint in encautic. The fluidity of the hot wax has made this work less tied to the objective reality of objects and places, more free and less controlled but the ideal toward which I always strive is to find a balance and harmony between color, form and content.
