Susan G. Luster creates decorative and functional clay art, using slab and hand-building techniques. Much of her inspiration for making and decorating pottery comes from the plant world. Each piece has leaves pressed into the clay before it is fired. The impressions are hand-painted, making them appear to be alive in the clay after they are fired. In addition to white stoneware, she has recently added terra cotta pieces framed in driftwood.
