Several years ago she began to explore oils again, painting plein air with a palette knife in an impressionistic style. “I feel this is what I was always meant to do –painting on site enables me to capture the visual as well as the emotional aspect of what I am painting.” When she is unable to paint outside she uses her experience outdoors to explore mixed media or to paint larger versions of her plein air paintings. Jean has received many awards and has her paintings in collections both nationally and internationally. She is currently represented in The Cary Gallery of Artists in NC, and has been represented by Bellport Lane Art Gallery, Mellenium Gallery, Wyndotte Gallery, and The Priscilla Roe Gallery in NY.
