Meet our Juror: Leatha Koefler

Leatha Koefler has worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher for numerous years. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, her Master’s degree from North Carolina State University; and postgraduate studies at Savannah College of Art and Design as well as The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Her studio practice is primarily working with found materials; building sculptures and wall art from outdated technologies such as slides, VHS tapes, film, floppy disks. She has won awards for her art locally and internationally. In addition to her personal artwork, she is part of a collaborative team building large nest installations. The nests range in size from 4 feet to 14 feet. Nest installations have been constructed at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, Cary Arts Center, Imperial Center for the Arts in

Rocky Mount, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Milton Rhodes Art Center in Winston Salem, and other locations.
